In Detective Conan, Tooru Amuro first appears as a private detective who waits tables at Café Poirot, below the Mouri Detective Agency, and offers himself to Kogoro Mori as a student. His first appearance is in manga File 793 and anime episode 667.
Behind the name is Rei Furuya, an investigator with the security bureau of the Japanese National Police Agency, who has infiltrated the Black Organization under the codename Bourbon. The film Zero's Enforcer and the spin-off Zero's Teatime put this double role at the centre.
