More about Character Vocal Series 01: Miku Hatsune

Who is Hatsune Miku and what exactly is she?

Miku is a virtual idol, who has performed at many concerts on stage as an animated projection (she gets projected on a special coated glass screen).

Hatsune Miku was released in 2007 and is the first Vocaloid created by Crypton Future Media. She got designed and illustrated by the mangaka KEI (Kei Garo). She is the second Vocaloid to use the Vocaloid 2 engine and is the first one to use the japanese version of the Vocaloid 2 engine.

Her voice is modeled after the japanese voice actress Saki Fujita.

‘Racing Miku’ - Hatsune Miku as the mascot for Good Smile Racing, exists since 2010. Miku also gets a new ‘Snow Miku’ design every year since 2011.

The fact that Crypton Future Media didn’t give out any information about Hatsune Mikus character traits, gives songwriters and fans the opportunity to create their own imagination of Mikus character.

She’s also got a Vocaloid 3 and a Vocaloid 4 release.
