Dragon Quest, the role-playing series Yuji Horii launched in 1986, and the figures from its games and the manga Dai no Daibouken.
More about Dragon Quest
Dragon Quest was released in Japan on 27 May 1986 for the Famicom, published by Enix, now Square Enix. Yuji Horii designed the game, Akira Toriyama drew the characters and Koichi Sugiyama composed the music.
The role-playing game grew into a franchise with manga, anime and novels. Especially familiar to collectors is Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken by Riku Sanjo and Koji Inada, serialised in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1989 and adapted as a TV anime in 2020.
The figures on this page come from that manga, such as Dai, Popp and Hyunckel, and from the games, including Terry from Dragon Quest VI.
