More about Fate/Zero

Fate/ Zero - do you want the Holy Grail at any price?!

The story of Fate/ Zero starts 10 years before the events in Fate/ Stay Night. This is where the 4th Grail War takes place. This war is a competition that was started by the mage families Matou, Einzbern and Tohsaka many decades ago. With the help of hero spirits, the so-called Servants, a fight for the Holy Grail is started, in which only the last Dou consisting of Servant and Master gets his wish fulfilled.

What's more important to you than being a hero or fulfilling your duty?

After three failed attempts to win the Grail, the Einzbernfamily is determined to win the Grail this time. For this reason they commissioned the magician killer Kiritsugu Emiya. He was determined to become a hero who would save everyone. But he finally rejected his ideals, with the knowledge that every human life he saved demanded a different one.

Kiritsugu, however, finds himself increasingly entangled in an inner conflict, for he is torn between love for his family, his wife Irisviel and their daughter Illya and their duties to attain the Holy Grail. As the story unfolds, Kiritsugu realizes that the Holy Grail cannot perform supernatural miracles, as the wisher hopes. The Holy Grail only manages to fulfill such desires through enormous Mana Resereven. This is a big problem and besides the Grail is possessed since the 3rd Grail War and transforms every wish that is expressed into a negative one. Will Kiritsugu manage to obtain the Holy Grail for the Eizberns or will his conscience stand in his way? These and other questions will be answered for you in Fate/ Zero.
