Characters
Figures from Okami: Amaterasu, Shiranui and Chibiterasu, from the Capcom game by Clover Studio and its DS successor Okamiden.
More about Okami (Ookami)
Okami was released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, developed by Clover Studio under director Hideki Kamiya and published by Capcom. The player controls Amaterasu, the Shinto sun goddess in the form of a white wolf, in a fictional version of classical Japan drawn from myth and folklore.
The look recalls sumi-e ink painting, and the Celestial Brush lets miracles be worked with a stroke. The game earned critical acclaim but sold poorly; Clover Studio was closed shortly afterwards.
Okamiden (Nintendo DS, 2010) followed as a successor centred on the young wolf Chibiterasu. The figures here draw on both games, from Amaterasu and Shiranui to Chibiterasu.
