More about Shangri-La Frontier
Shangri-La Frontier began in May 2017 as a web novel by Katarina on the platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Since July 2020, Ryosuke Fuji's manga adaptation has run in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine; in 2023 it won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.
At its centre is Rakuro Hizutome, a hunter of so-called trash games: buggy, unpopular titles that he clears despite all their flaws. When he takes on the VR game Shangri-La Frontier, he plays as Sunraku in a bird mask, and his experience with bad games turns into an advantage. Unlike in Sword Art Online or .hack, he is not trapped in the game but moves between game and reality. C2C adapted the series as an anime from October 2023.
The range includes figures of Sunraku and Arthur Pencilgon as well as manga volumes.
