More about Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a mecha series from the studio Gainax, broadcast on Japanese television in 2007 for 27 episodes. Hiroyuki Imaishi directed, Kazuki Nakashima wrote the script and Taku Iwasaki composed the music. The title can be translated as "Pierce the Heavens".

The story begins in an underground village. The digger Simon finds a drill key, his friend Kamina dreams of the surface, and together with Yoko the two take up the fight against the rule of Lordgenome. The drill remains the series' leitmotif, right down to the mechas Gurren and Lagann.

In 2008, a feature film titled Childhood's End condensed the first half of the series, with about 20 minutes of new scenes. Besides figures, the range also includes cards from the Weiß Schwarz trading card game.
