More about Marvel Universe
The Marvel Universe is the shared world in which Marvel's comics are set. Its roots lie with Timely Comics, the publisher's predecessor in the 1930s and 40s, whose characters partly lived in the same world already.
The connected setting as it stands today was built from 1961 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko: events in one title had consequences in another, and heroes turned up in other series. In 1963 the Avengers brought Ant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk together as a team.
The main continuity is called Earth-616. In the shop, Marvel Bishoujo statues are the centrepiece, showing heroines and villainesses in the style of Japanese figures.
