The world of Puella Magi Madoka Magica: figures, manga and trading cards from Shaft's magical girl series, which weighs a wish against its price.
More about Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Puella Magi Madoka Magica aired from January to April 2011 and ran for twelve episodes. Behind it stands the creative collective Magica Quartet: director Akiyuki Shinbo, screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, character designer Ume Aoki and the studio Shaft. Aniplex produced it, and the music is by Yuki Kajiura.
Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki meet a creature called Kyubey, which grants any girl a wish if she fights witches in return. The series takes the magical girl genre at its word and asks what such a contract costs.
The anime grew into a world with several layers: the films Beginnings and Eternal condense the series, Rebellion continues the story in 2013, and Walpurgisnacht: Rising picks up from there. The smartphone game Magia Record (2017) and its anime tell a side story centred on Iroha Tamaki.
